On 25 September, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius participated in a virtual ministerial meeting of the Alliance for Multilateralism on the occasion of the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly. On the margins of the high-level General Debate of the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly on 24 September, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius attended a virtual event commemorating the 15th anniversary of the adoption by heads of state and government of the responsibility to protect populations from genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity at the United Nations World Summit in 2005.

On 21 September, a high-level event ‘The Future We Want, the UN We Need: Reaffirming our Collective Commitment to Multilateralism’ in New York at the opening of the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly marked the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the UN. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this event took place primarily in a virtual format, with pre-recorded statements by heads of state and government.

On 29 August in Vilnius, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius met with the Finnish Minister for Foreign Affairs Pekka Haavisto and discussed important security issues in the Baltic Sea region, the development of the bilateral relationship between Lithuania and Finland, the situation in Belarus, as well as other relevant issues on the international agenda.

On 9 June, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius had a telephone conversation with his Georgian counterpart David Zalkaliani. The Foreign Ministers discussed preparations for video conferences of the Eastern Partnership Foreign Affairs Ministers and leaders in June, the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, and other issues.

On 11 March Linas Linkevičius, Minister of Foreign Affairs, had a meeting with Philip Thomas Reeker, the United States of America Assistant Secretary of State, where they discussed relevant issues of transatlantic cooperation and regional security including partner efforts in countering disinformation and attempts to rewrite history.

On 10 March, on the eve of the 30th anniversary of the Restoration of the Independence of Lithuania, Vilnius held the Bucharest Nine (B9) meeting of the foreign ministers of Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, and Hungary. Delegates from the United States of America and NATO attended the meeting as guests. Gitanas Nausėda, President of the Republic of Lithuania, greeted the participants in the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania.

On February 24 in Geneva, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius took part in the event jointly organized by Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia and Poland on human rights situation in Crimea and Sevastopol, illegally annexed by the Russian Federation, with a special focus on political prisoners and arbitrary detentions.
