President Dalia Grybauskaitė on September 17-18 participated in the Three Seas Initiative Summit in Romania. Within this framework, the leaders the Baltic, the Black and the Adriatic Seas region have agreed on a list of priority infrastructure projects aimed at linking the twelve initiative countries with modern energy, transport and digital interconnections.
On 26 March in Bucharest, Romania, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius met with the Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Teodor Meleşcanu and discussed opportunities for strengthening bilateral cooperation, important items on the EU, NATO agenda, as well as situations in Eastern Europe and the Western Balkans.
On the occasion of the Romanian National Day, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Linas Linkevičius has sent a congratulations letter to the Romanian Foreign Minister Mr. Teodor-Viorel Meleșcanu.
Speaker of the Lithuanian Parliament, Mr. Viktoras Pranckietis, was in Bucharest on October 15-17 with an official visit, upon the invitation of the President of the Romanian Senate, Mr. Călin Popescu-Tăriceanu. During his visit, Mr. Pranckietis had meetings with Mr. Popescu-Tăriceanu, President of the Chamber of Deputies Mr. Liviu Dragnea, representatives of the Romanian-Lithuanian parliamentary friendship goup and other member of the Romanian Parliament, as well as with the Government representatives - Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Environment Ms. Grațiela-Leocadia Gavrilescu and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Teodor Meleșcanu.
