On 22 November, political consultations between Lithuania and Romania were held in Bucharest. The consultations were led by the Political Directors of the Foreign Ministries of both countries - Asta Skaisgirytė and Stefan Tinca.
President Dalia Grybauskaitė on September 17-18 participated in the Three Seas Initiative Summit in Romania. Within this framework, the leaders the Baltic, the Black and the Adriatic Seas region have agreed on a list of priority infrastructure projects aimed at linking the twelve initiative countries with modern energy, transport and digital interconnections.
On 26 March in Bucharest, Romania, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius met with the Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Teodor Meleşcanu and discussed opportunities for strengthening bilateral cooperation, important items on the EU, NATO agenda, as well as situations in Eastern Europe and the Western Balkans.
