On 11 January, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis met with Franziska Brantner, Parliamentary State Secretary in Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, and discussed China’s economic pressure on Lithuania, as well as the European Union's possible common decisions and measures in response to China’s economic pressure on one of the EU member states.
On 5-6 October, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Arnoldas Pranckevičius participated in the 2nd part of the 2021 Meeting of the OECD Council at Ministerial Level, which gathered leaders and Ministers under the theme of “Shared Values: Building a Green and Inclusive Future”, to honour the organisation’s 60th anniversary and to focus on the crucial work at hand.
On 20 September in New York, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis met with the Minister of State of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates Khalifa Shaheen Almarar. The meeting focused on the opportunities for bilateral cooperation, Lithuania's participation at EXPO2020, and the UAE-Lithuania business forum.
On 16 September in Washington, D.C., the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis met with entrepreneurs from American companies that operate in the sectors of defence, financial services, cybersecurity, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and human resource management. These companies either operate or plan their activities in Lithuania.
On 18 February, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis participated in a virtual roundtable, which was hosted by the American-Lithuanian Business Council (ALBC), discussed possibilities for expanding cooperation, and got acquainted with the association’s operational plans. The meeting focused on the situation in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, Lithuania’s foreign policy priorities, Belarus, as well as other issues of international importance.
