On 16 June in Brussels, the Coreper approved a new package of sanctions against the physical persons and legal entities (78 individuals and 7 companies), who are responsible for systematic human rights violations and repression in Belarus, as well as involved in the forced landing of a Ryanair aircraft in Minsk and the detention of Raman Protasevich and Sofia Sapega.

On 7 June, the Lithuanian diplomat Justina Krutulytė was elected as Vice-Chair of the Sixth Committee (Legal) of the United Nations General Assembly. She will represent the Eastern Europe Regional Group, which has 23 members, at the 76th session of the General Assembly that is to begin in September 2021.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis is visiting Copenhagen, Denmark, where he, together with his counterparts from Estonia, Latvia, and Denmark, attended a conference on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Denmark and the Baltic states, and the 30th anniversary of their re-establishment. The event was opened by the Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark.
