Lithuanian Ambassador to Romania, presented his credentials to the President of Romania
The new Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania in Romania Arvydas Pocius on October 21, at the Cotroceni Palace, presented his credentials to the President of Romania Traian Basescu.
After the ceremony the Ambassador Arvydas Pocius, spoke about the opportunities for deepening and boosting high-level political dialogue and efforts to be made to ensure energy independence. Mr. President Traian Basescu expressed his appreciation for the contribution of Lithuania to the regional security policy development in the crisis in Ukraine, expressing the belief that the status shared by NATO member states will contribute in the future to strengthen cooperation between Romania and Lithuania.
A. Pocius is the second ambassador to Romania, after the restoration of Lithuanian independence.
