OPENED THE FIRST LITHUANIAN HONORARY CONSULATE IN ROMANIA
In Ploiesti on April 19, was opened the first Lithuanian Honorary Consulate in Romania, headed by Honorary Consul Ion Antonio Tache. At the event attended Lithuanian ambassador to Romania Vladimir Jarmolenko noted that the opening of the consulate is another important step in enhancing the success of the bilateral partnership.
"Romania is a very important partner and a friend of Lithuania, with whom is a successful cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats. This partnership will strengthen Lithuania's next half-year Presidency of the EU Council and the 2014/2015 candidate to the United Nations Security Council non-permanent member. "- said V.Jarmolenko.
The Ambassador noted that although in 2012 Lithuanian and Romanian trade turnover exceeded symbolic 100 million. (EUR 102.4 million. Billion), while Lithuanian exports to Romania, grew by 20 per cent., one of the main tasks of Honorary Consul A.Tache will be to strengthen trade relations and increase awareness of Lithuania to Romania.
