TRAVEL ALERT - TRAFFIC ON THE DANUBE GIURGIU-RUSE BRIDGE BETWEEN BULGARIA AND ROMANIA IS TEMPORARILY RESTRICTED FOR LONG-VEHICLES (TIR) AND TRUCKS OVER 10 TONNES.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania warns that according to information received from the Bulgarian authorities, starting with 8 April 2013 the circulation of long-vehicles and trucks over 10 tonnes on the bridge Giurgiu - Ruse is prohibited in both directions, until the repairs of the bridge structure conclude. The circulation of cars and other vehicles up to 10 tonnes are permitted only in a single lane, until the completion of repairs. The long-vehicles and trucks over 10 tons can use the ferry-boat lines Bechet - Oreahovo, Calarasi - Silistra, Calafat-Vidin, Turnu Magurele - Nikopol, Svishtov - Zimnicea.
