Foreign policy and diplomacy »The new leadership of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) was elected at the plenary session of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Bucharest (Romania) on September 29 – Tomas Lamanauskas became the Deputy Secretary-General for the 2023-2026 term. This is the first time in the country’s history that a representative of Lithuania has been elected to such a high position in the United Nations Organisation. The American representative, Doreen Bogdan-Martin, was elected the new Secretary-General of the ITU.
